Re: kiteboarding Leash Condom

Not my pic but I just saw this while searching for some other things. I wouldn't have much use for this cover. The ones on leashes are more convenient, sewing these onto the actual leash would be a better idea.

Re: Liftfoils materials and durability

All those jagged edges on the chips says its carbon. I don't think plastic would chip like that, at least not with such straight edges. Those little pinholes you see are also part of the layup process. It could be painted with a soft paint that makes it seem like plastic.

Re: Liftfoils materials and durability

Are you sure you're not just seeing the top weave? I very much doubt it's "ABS plastic". There are different carbon weaves and not all carbon has the checkerboard pattern. Below are examples. Some are glossy, some are matte. It's all carbon fiber but the top layer is a different weave for a specific...

Re: Slingshot Angry swallow versus Cabrinha Secret weapon

I'm around 80kg and my preference is for 5'4 to 5'6 boards when the wind and waves pick up. But that's for the smaller waves I ride in. I have no idea what Cape Town is like. But I would guess that 5'2 for overhead would be way too skatey. I have a 4'11 LF Little Phatty and it's definitely not my fa...

Re: Slingshot Angry swallow versus Cabrinha Secret weapon

I have the Slingshot Converter 5'4 which is basically the Swallow with a foil mount and I've ridden my friends 2015 Secret Weapon. These are completely different boards. The Secret Weapon is a BIG board. It's much thicker and is designed primarily for lighter winds and small waves. The Converter (Sw...

Re: Fastest turning wave/boost kite

I think people need to state which wave kites they tried and which one felt the fastest to them. Just because your wave kite is faster than your other kite, doesn't make it the fastest.

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

Some of the pictures look very slingshot-esque. And isn't it slingshot, takuma, Naish(?) and axis that use the same aluminum mast section now? Draw your own conclusions... The Slingshot one is different. It uses two bolts. The extrusion differs as well, at least the internal splines look different....

Re: Best 2017 Kites

Hi, Just wanted to let you guys know that the 2017 Cabos are selling for 499 EUR for a 9m now. I got one (even though I didn't need one) because that's dirt cheap. Liked it alot! I usually ride F-one Bandits and Liquid Force Solos for my mainly onshore/side-on wave riding and the Solo is my new fav...

Re: Is it possible to kite a surf-foil?

After visiting the Naish site, their plate IS the Takuma copy. The video shows identical 6mm T-nuts. Which makes me think the mast is similar to Takuma. Naish will have a Tuttle and Deep tuttle conversion mounts for this mast. Opens up a little more choices for the Takuma and copies.
