Re: Duotone defalte valve

Interesting to hear the dislike of the high-V. I personally hate high-V from a practical standpoint, but thought that most Duotone riders preferred it. All of their kites that I've had the opportunity to try seem to work better with high-V. This is a large part of the reason the kite turns the way i...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

Based in the interview with Ralf, their tech is based in: - Materials especially made for them. - Welded seams (less elongation in every joint) - Canopy/Dacron printing that allows lower prices since they only need one color of each material (reduces waste/Wholesale purchase) - Every part of the ki...

Re: Chicken Loop & Fireball - Harness Modification

Not really familiar with Flysurfer kites. But is your Fireball bar not compatible with the Flysurfer kite? That mod looks sketchy at best. What's the chances of the safety having an issue (or even being able to hit it in an emergency) being that it's right up against your body?

Re: Difference between ‘23 and ‘24 Orbit

And what about the 23/24 nitro? I heard it’s veery similar but im assuming that’s in comparison with the 23? I felt the 24 Nitro was more stable when riding at the upper end of the wind range. Less deformation in loops and in big gusts. It just feels solid. Better feedback at the bar and a bit quic...

Re: Kite brands easy to travel with

Not sure why anyone would travel with any kite bag at all (compression or otherwise). They simply add weight and take up space. I get that everyone has different needs. But I never take the kite bags on a trip. Folding the kite in half and then folding it in from the wingtips towards the center in 1...

Re: Witch main airlock valve replacement to use?

I had a similar issue and stumbled across an easier solution. Install the EVA cover patch as normal. Then pull the valve off completely from the kite. Remove the center smaller ring that connects the valve to the top cap. It's comes off pretty easy if you're a little careful. Then just cut that larg...

Re: Help me understand this old Cabrinha bar

It's been quite awhile, but from memory the amount you're short by on that front line is supposed to be a bungee section which serves to take up the slack in the system when trim is pulled. So if you just put another link of static line there, you'll have some line droop whenever you pull trim (simi...

Re: 2023 Cabrinha Switchblade: any real life reviews?

Pat did do the '23 SB. It's a pulley-less design. So more direct steering and sheeting feel at the bar. I've tested SB's each year and have to say the new '23 version is my favorite of this model. It's a solid all around kite with reliable performance is nearly all categories of riding. Best perform...

Re: Which small Switchblade to 8m FX ?

All small kites will drop you faster and therefore require more flying of the kite when coming down (as well as to say up longer). That said, the SB will have a bit more glide/hangtime over the FX due to its design. It will also feel a touch more powerful when comparing sizes. 7 SB will have a lot o...

Re: Cabrinha announces separation with Lorenzo and Leo Casati

Is there a video of the James injury? Sky high - Tarifa - Episode#4, the accident is at 4min 30sec, clearly one line is snapping. Agreed. It's pretty clear by watching the left wing tip flapping around and the left bar end float (totally limp) indicating zero line tension on that side. Duotone all ...
