If you want to score points with the wife, stay at Velero Beach Resort. http://www.velerobeach.com/ Just like the name says, it's right on the beach, on the opposite end of Cabarete from Kite Beach. If you're not a beginner, you can launch your kite right in front of the hotel. I think it's only abo...

It's normal. All sizes that I've seen do this, however, I only notice it when I look at the kite and don't feel it at the bar. If you're really noticing it at the bar then you might not have it set up right...

I can only ride this board with Sea Specs on, otherwise my eyes really sting after a good session. Is anyone else not bothered by this? Underground says they kept the same...

Wind is very hit or miss this time of year, but there tends to be good swell for surfing. There use to be a surf board rental place at Playa Encuentro (main surf beach). Not sure if it's still there, but other places in town also rent boards. It's a very small town, so in a matter of hours you'll be...

whose that person smiling at the camera while your on the ground? That lady is a retired nurse who happened to be walking her dog in the park where this happened and came to my assistance. 10 minutes before that picture was taken, I was lying on the ground, unconcious and my wife thought I was dead...

1. Not wearing a helmet while kiting (I think a lot of us have made this mistake) 2. Using borrowed gear and not properly checking the bar before launching. The stopper ball (on a SS bar) was pulled all the way down towards the CL, locking the kite at full power. See pic for consequences of both of ...

I'm really sorry to hear this about your friend. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. This really touches close to home for me as I was involved in a very similar accident about a month ago. I was dragged from the beach and broke through one fence and luckily a second fence caught me...
