Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

I've been winging for 1.5 years and used to kitefoil with Peaks (still have them but hardly kitefoil anymore). For me, foiling waves or windswell with strings attached (even to Peaks) and surf foiling with a luffed wing are completely different experiences, and the main reason I wing. Second reason,...

Re: Foreigners going to Brasil please read

You should be able to look at the bright side. In Brazil deaths by cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia, tuberculosis, auto-immune diseases etc have decreased significantly this year, specially in the states where governors are opposed to the president.

Re: Wave Kiting – doubt about specific quiver vs. technique

If you need a 12m to get going you're just going to run down the kite as soon as you get on the wave. Since you're surfing faster than the wind speed no amount of drift is going to help you. Without downlooping this is true for onshore and many degrees of side-on, but for sideshore and even some de...

Re: Wave Kiting – doubt about specific quiver vs. technique

IMO the BRM Cloud is much more suited at this wind range than strutted kites for DTL off the wind wave riding. It drifts and stays inthe air very well... giving room for actual surf emulation with a less "strings attached" feel. Very different experience than a Rebel for sure.

Re: Hydrofoiling myths .. exposed

Agree with eabmoto, queneseb, boardjockey and mitaka. People with solid strapless experience should get the hang of the foil strapless waterstart in little time. Back hand on the rail, front hand flying the kite, done. I sometimes also found myself instinctively giving a little push at the back of t...

Re: rrd religion 2015 and global bar V6

RRD kites are tuned with a high V-point, so you may experience some negative effects from bars with lower V-points. One thing to consider is that the rrd bar comes with 23m lines. And if you use the Switch bar without extensions, with the standard 20m lines, then your split will be 3m closer to the...

Re: rrd religion 2015 and global bar V6

how about their global bar ...V6. is it a single frontline flagout? No, it's a dual line roll-over safety. I bought one a few weeks ago (together with the 8m) but still haven't had the opportunity to use it. The materials seem very good and lines super rigid, which I like. It's my understanding tha...

Re: Onshore wave riding

So, in the typical conditions that I experience, I would be coming in port tack towards the beach with the wind cross on from my left with the kite typically at about 9. I can see a bit of a small wave on my right, downwind of me. In that scenario are you saying that I should bring the kite up to 1...

Re: Onshore wave riding

Assuming medium rider weight, a 10.5 is used in ligther winds. If a decent sized wall is pushing the rider towards the kite in lighter winds, even the most agressive dingle-dangle won't work. Throwing the kite around is standard for side-on, or onshore with stronger winds and small swell. Of course ...
