Re: Gummy spot on neck seal

I had a drysuit that this happened to as well and it's basically due to the rubber degrading and breaking down (I stored it poorly). As I recall, I couldn't fix it other than cutting off the gummy part of the seal, but some sections were way too big and I would have been cutting off too much of the ...

Lift foil factory after hurricane?

Does anybody know how the Lift factory held up after the latest hurricane? Their factory burnt down last year and they rebuilt and now the hurricane basically destroyed the island.... ouch!

WOO gen1 vs gen2 accuracy

Just wondering if anybody has put both the first and second gen WOO's on their board and then compared the results? Do the results differ much at all? If so, by how much? I'm not going to comment on how accurate either version of the WOO is, but if one version is fairly different than the other cons...

Re: Hello-new member in Canada

Where in Canada are you? Lot's of kiters across the country and if you've got kitable water (or snow) there should be a kiting community to watch out for you as you advance. Also lots of warm water this summer! I'm in Winnipeg and slowly getting into the local groove. Time is my major constraint. C...

Re: Footstraps tight or loose

I ride with my straps loose. I basically put my foot in the strap and if they're too tight I give the straps a really good stretch in all directions with my foot to loosen them before finally fastening them. So loose enough to pull my foot out if required without issue and tight enough to still hold...

Re: Foiler's keep your helmets on!

What does this have to do with a helmet with regard to foiling? The board was not even close to him when he crashed. This is just a general kite accident... foil or no foil.

Re: 2 or 3 straps

About back strap - I never even consider taking off JUST the back strap. If you can't jump, why have any straps at all? For me it is either all straps or completely strapless. I do keep 1 front hook to assist with starting though, but I place it further forward and don't use it when I ride straples...

Re: 2 or 3 straps

Started foiling this year and took the back strap off even before my first session. I use two front straps only and will likely put the back strap on only when I'm ready to practice jumps. It's a lot easier to get away from the board when you only have one foot in a strap compared to two if you're u...

Re: How to switch on foil

The jibe is easier for most of us because it is almost the same as the surfboard jibe. And adding a downloop really helps. The tack is more difficult and can take hundreds of attempts. A good way to start learning is to tack on your kite surfboard (which most riders have never done). If you cannot ...

Re: Sugar / epoxy deck grip

I use a "wax mat" on my board... works great... I actually put it on another of my boards after trying it on my first.

There are other brands available as well.
