Me too. I snowkite full time in a climbing harness and take a climbing harness for short water kite trips as it packs smaller. It's still good on RMP above 11k, and the snow is starting to go away below that. Bare grass south slopes YIKES. Here's a shot "in the tube" coming down the Putney Pipeline.
Hey edt, You may be over this thread but anyhow, I have seen guys use the smaller access kites with reasonable success in some pretty lousy wind conditions. It seems the 6 and 8 are useful tools especially on rowdy survival days. I just can't tolerate foils in junk wind but they will say it's my fly...
Strong west on MacMillan too. FINALLY there's enough coverage that isn't total boilerplate. Not perfect, but the basins have enough soft bits to enjoy. Beautiful up there with all the white smoke ripping off the ridges.
I too love my WMFG pump and use mostly pump up kites. I always switch to my lone foil kite when it's below zero F (and only then). Torn too many valves, etc when it's cold.
