Re: Beginner question:how to turn kite faster?

Focus on keeping the lines tight. If they go slack, you lose steering input.

Wow Dimitri - as good as your kites are (and I'm sure they're fantastic!), he is your greatest accomplishment! Well done, and great video too - really nice variety of shots and angles. All the best!

Re: Hotel in Muine Vietnam ?

Hi - we stayed at a nice hotel (Xin Chau - see below), right in the fat part of the kitesurfing strip on our last trip to Mui Ne. Paul, Tien and Twan will take good care of you and your friends. Lovely grounds with a beautiful pool, one of the nicest restaurants, and great hosts! https://www.tripadv...

Re: John's medical/living expense fund

Horrible story John - praying that you will recover. Thank you for the share too. I carry CiPro as an emergency antibiotic (hey if it can take care of an anthrax attack...). It will be disposed of properly.

Re: Waves in Asia

There is a relatively new location in Vietnam, called Phan Rang that has a reef and big waves. It is still only accessed on trips from Mui Ne as far as I know. There is more information on FaceBook.

Re: Just bought my first set up...

New kites are definitely pricey - I buy all mine used too. At 140 lbs, a 16m kite will be all the kite you will ever want - so do yourself a favour (get lessons) and get another used kite in the 10 - 11m range, which will quickly become your favourite kite! Hang out at the closest kitesurfing area -...

Here's an ad recently posted you may want to check out for a much newer 2012 11m fuel for about the price of bladders.

Re: Average Joe Kite Review- Light wind kites

One of the old tricks I learned riding 2003 slingshots addresses how to get the kite on its back - easily. Just take your board and put it under you and let the kite continue to pull. The reduced resistance to being pulled (much like swimming or walking towards it) will allow the kite to go to its b...

Re: Carafino: Boards, Footstraps & Everything else...

Wow - unbelievable connection to the Malaysian Air disaster.
The boards and foils look beautiful. I am planning to learn on a race board, and will be looking forward to a foil in the coming years. All the best - and thanks for the efforts!
