Re: Fiberglass bridging problem with a vacuum

Sometimes small problems that eventually you over come are really not problems if you change your construction style. It might seam to be a big deal but usually in the end it will take you to the next level.

Re: vacuum pumps need advises ???

You would be surprised how often a vacuum pump is used in industry, just need to know what you r looking for. If you r in a rush to build on a fixed budget then you will be headed for failure. Keep looking you will find a vac pump that will work. The vac gen is a bad idea pure and simple heard stori...

Re: air bubbles

I never said you were wrong I said I do not think the temp rise from curing marine type room temperature cure resin is enough to cause the bubbles on a wood core in a vacuum layup and then I offered a method I would use to eliminate this problem. I am not here to argue with you. I never have this is...

Re: air bubbles

Unfortunately your bottom layup is sandwiched between 2 hard surfaces and a sealed pathway your going to end up with bubbles, I don't think temp has anything to do with it it's lack of force to move the resin, squeeze out the air.. Wood core is cheaper but a core cell core won't give you bubbles whe...

Re: wetting the lower side in VIP

No experience to share but I wonder why the holes in the core does the resin flow side to side or top to bottom if side to side I would not have holes in the core. I thought the resin should flow freely on a controlled path over a set time period. If you have holes in the core it would seem to obstr...
