Re: at 57°F (14°C) water temperature you would choose 5/4 or 4/3 wetsuit?

It depends more on the air temperature than the water temperature (up to a point). As kiters, we don't spend a lot of time in the water.

I am in to my second winter now, and it is showing it's age with seams starting to go, and the zip not as free as it was. I will get through our winter (Southern hemisphere) before I replace it. I a...

Re: Is there a minimum wind strength for jumping strapless?

I don't think there is a specific minimum wind speed for jumps (no more than just staying up wind at least). It is definitely easier with stronger winds though - the stronger the better. When the wind is light, you will need more speed to make the board stick. A light board helps too. I find it easi...

Re: What is the biggest risk self launching?

Lines can get hooked up on kite bridle and edge of kite so I always like to make sure that the lines are clear, and that there are no objects downwind where the lines could hook up on, including your board! And let the bar out on launching.

Re: Has anyone used tile to track stolen kite equipment?

I use Tile for tracking my jacket, keys, umbrella etc. It is great for tracking things that you are likely to misplace, especially smaller things that you can lose in your own house, or leaving your jacket in a bar etc. The trouble with using Tile to track stolen items is that you then have to rely ...

Yeah nah. I am no medical practitioner but that sounds like bad advice. If I had done that, I would have at best ended up with a worse hernia and possibly got to see my own intestines.
