The irony is that the reporter on the beach is more at risk from the storm surge than the kiter
Seeing the underpowered kiter and the reporters hair was only being blown around a bit, to me looked like about 25 knots.
If that!

Re: Kite Crash 9

Tuff stuff ! Last one is also crazy...clearly the paragliders fault...kiter can't see that coming. Make that a, (Powered Paraglider) ; those guys don't have much in the brains department ! OK i'm a bit bias ---- i don't like motors , on a foot-launched glider ; especially when they intrude on...

Re: Disadvantages of wave kites

The Carbrinha drifters I had I couldn't get to jump to save my life Found them easy to jump :) good height but not a lot of hang time, and they dropped me like a rock needing aggressive redirects and loops for soft landings. 9m and 10m I've ridden, but the wind was up so it might have been the cond...

Re: Foiling, a Pastime Worthy of Silicon Valley - NYT article

What you are seeing in action is how journalism and instantaneous publishing can warp the reamity. Yes , some of the foiling community is as described, but it's not the full picture. But it's a picture that sticks, it's simple, and people want to believe it. Yes but why is foiling or even yachting ...

Re: First foilboard

Gold  good job @jyoder! Tom--what about allowing just the nose of the board to flex and absorb some of the impact? Is some sort of dampening like they possible? DC had little volume in the nose, so I'm not surprised it's tough to learn to ride underpowered. I liked it, but for ease of light win...

Re: Comparative measurements of mast flex and torsional stiffnes

The zeeko plate with no fillet, collar or gusset is a little bit of a headscratcher, considering they take the trouble to CNC their Al fuselage, yet my zeeko seems plenty stiff. Have yet to read of a Zeeko lacking in stiffness at the plate. What makes you think a collar would have any real impact. ...

Re: FS Sonic Race review anyone?

Kami, it sounds like you are just guessing. Have you flown a Sonic Race? My question is aimed at someone who has flown the Sonic Race with a twintip. Yes, I understand that the Sonic Race was designed for Hydrofoiling, but my experience has been that so called "racing" kites turned out to be a lot ...
