Re: Splicing tips?

Use a longer "fid. Spread the weave out along it, so it's relaxed and not all bunched up. Then wiggle the tail down it, like you'd feed a drawstring back into your shorts . . . if you know what I mean. Small movements, not a lot of bunching up like in the photo :) I don't have a metal fid if that's...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

... I'd like to know from a technical perspective how this kite jumps so well and supposedly drifts amazingly?? There is usually a trade off there, but has switch discovered the Holy Grail?? I've read the reviews, but I'm wondering how the kite does this from a design pov ??? Hope I get a decent re...

I didn't feel any limitation in this regard
May simply be the size of the door and the size of the fin -- I think its 100mm. Oh and the pads being offset to the heel side edge...

On the Flydoor, makes riding downwind tricky and tie side nearly impossible, as it always wants to dig in and turn upwind... Good for milking the low end, and you can jump well, but it feels a bit limited. The Ten board fin looks shorter though, maybe it's not as bad.

Re: Why pro-riders move the hip forwards?

With straps you need to shift your weight to compensate the push from the front wing, without straps you just move your feet :) I dont think so, only if you got a bad adjusted foil (like many beginnerfoils are as easier for the very first rides), or a very different personal liking. I really think ...

Re: Pulleys on kites

More bridal attachment points = less load the LE has to carry between the attachment points = less likely to buckle under load and "low" LE pressure. Attachment point placement becomes vital.... I've flown some kites that just buckle when you sheet the bar in despite only being moderately loaded, es...

Re: Why pro-riders move the hip forwards?

Cause they are lit in their seat harnesses, and obsurdley huge kites for the wind they are in...going at blitz speed, all the weight is in the front leg to keep the wing down It’s a race to get the best upwind angle...hence short lines and big kites Surely they'd get more weight on the front foot b...

Re: Pulleys on kites

It seems that most riders who use a short bridle pulley-less kite usually wont go back to pulleys. I wonder if the opposite is true? After riding a pulley-less bridle kite, does one really think"oh man I really need those 6 pulleys..." ??? If they are so superior, we might as well all have FOIL kit...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

Pulleys...my thoughts... Sands the briddle lines. Junk can get in. Beautifully snags wet sea weeds. They do break. Though not often. Main problem >>They dont always work (usually hard to tell). Needs to be checked. Especially 6.... :o Many brands use them as shortcut for poor kite design. Laggy flo...
