Re: Foil tangled in lines

Happened twice at the lake, I whipped the foil out of the lines instantly. Happened once in the surf, I struggled for a bit then gave up as the surge of the waves made it impossible, and released everything, swam in after it and unwrapped the lines from the mast. Then let the kite and bar wash onto ...

Re: Do all High Aspect Kites Control Like Buses?

Eleveight RS would be the way to go I'd say . Or Cabrinha Switchblade, I use the 2018 model and bar pressure is honestly no issue at all . I think the older models where heavy pressure but it's changed a lot since then. The switchblade boosts just amazingly and the jumps are so floaty , it's a soli...

Re: Do all High Aspect Kites Control Like Buses?

You can do light bar pressure in high AR tubes but it requires long bridles and lots of pulleys...

Re: North Valves: Continuing a sad story

that valve in the picture isn't the old Cab's that you have to screw on? It works, but it has double screw. I like the Naish inflating valve. At least until 2015. I don't know if they changed it lately. Just push it in, then pump, then screw in the lid. It works every time. No twisting, no double s...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

I think the touchdown carve to toe is a good step I think I might have said this before, but I only did a couple of those and they were unsuccessful. I quickly discovered that if you just keep carving upwind until you're almost at a stop and about to stall, you can redirect the kite to the other si...

Re: Gear that has exceeded your expectations!

My Axis SUP/surf foil. Foiling was exceptional, the big wings were another step up on that.

And my first kites have exceeded my expectations, in that they're still going strong. Even the bars...expected them to fall apart by now :D

Re: Board design -- also a boring question

Whats stopping you? ;) Cmon, I've been using my 2x1.5m laundry for years... Anyways, spray comes from edges, sand off the edges on some angle = no spray. At least on my boards. Why negative outline on some boards? I.e. Litewave. More area. Less area less drag, the optimum is somewhere in the middle...

Re: Board design -- also a boring question

ASP in NZ built me a custom board for $800 AUD. The first one was too thin and snapped but to their credit they replaced it with a thicker one. We spent a lot of time talking about riding styles and preferences, sizes etc before pulling the trigger. Really happy with the outcome. I got a 144 x 46cm...
