I always thought it was screaming, jumping up and down flailing your arms around like a drunk chicken. Always works for me....
And being dragged face-first across the beach...

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

Data for 820 and 1020. I guess 920 is in the middle... 32257721_10156774869636294_6448011406229897216_n.jpg 32267394_10156774866306294_8597966223793192960_n.jpg And a video: Daniel Thomson (Tomo) is on the surfboard. He rode it for an hour and liked it so much, he didn't want to give it back. http:/...

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

@ kamikuza and Gunnar, Could the 2 of you share your experiences with the axis SUP/Surf range ? Some Info on the 820 and 920 online , but nothing on the 720 anymore and the website also is not updated yet. Looking for prone foil and wave-kitefoil wing to do both @ 80kg and the axis setup looks top ...

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

Yeah, you need to be bigger to make the bigger wings work. So long as they're not sea anchors ... I'd call for reverse dependency - you might want a bigger wing if you're a heavier guy but unless the foil is completely out of tune a ligter person should be able to ride any foil size. Unfortunately ...

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

I’ve used a Takuma V100 (1245cm2 in area) for surf kitefoiling and it works well BUT it’s so slow (like 6-10kmh) and draggy you don’t get any of the usual benefits of a Hydrofoil. I have to ride the same size kite as if I was TT and it does not work in super light wind. That was what I was worried ...

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

I'm riding an Axis SUP/surf foil. It's 820mm wide, 1443cm2 projected area. Using the kite foil Ride 48 board. The video was yesterday, 10 to 14 knots on the weather station 10km away so who knows. I think 12 knots would be overly generous. Kite was a 10m Switchblade. Rider is a fat bastard. http://w...
