Re: Anti-slip material on foil board. Where to buy?

There's a clear adhesive film that's like the salt deck, but it's of course rubber of some sort so it's less coarse. I used it on my Dialer and loved it, and it lasted ages. Oh VersaTraction kind of stuff. My Axis board has proper "salt" grip which I thought would chew up my feet but it didn't so I'...

Sheathed line has a wonderful soft failure
What? Mine snapped mid-jump and I got dropped like a rock from a decent height and had a very long trudge back to shore. I replace "early" to avoid that.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

From the point of view of a retailer who often sells secondhand FLYSURFER’s - can someone clarify for me how effective the short mixer test (levelling AZ then BC) and regularly replacing the pulley lines is ? Much of what I read in this thread seems to relate to the SMT not correcting for shrinking...

Re: Boosting only one way

Kiting is funny. Can't think of any other sport that lets you go for as much height as possible with so little consequence. Other sports,,, you have to learn to land AS you learn to jump. Hucking over 10 feet of air on a ski hill, or a bike, or behind a boat holds real consequences compared to plop...

Re: Boosting only one way

For me, depends on how the wind and chop lines up, so you might find you jump just as well the other way, with a bit of practice. Some days, I forget which side is my natural side but it doesn't matter because the chop is coming in at the wrong angle... Some day, I boost in one direction then play w...

Re: Is Wakestyle dead?

The young fellas here are doing the wakestyle but they're also doing comps. The old guys who used to do it are now riding surfboards exclusively.

And weirdly, in NZ the local wakestyle/new school boys don't surf but do foil.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

I secured the mains at the end of the pig tails, did the mixer test then the LMT. I assumed that as the pig tails are the same length and the mixer was zeroed, it'd be the same as securing at the top of the mixer. If I may be so bold :D I don't think you need to -- LMT is relative to A, so other thi...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Sometimes just talking things through makes what I've read settle into clarity :) The pigtails were clear, but moving the Z-main wasn't until you mentioned re-mixering it again. Pigtail seem easier! Basically it seems that the mixer is trying to compensate for shrinkage in the SPL and has the side e...
