Re: Losing valves

I had this problem a while ago on an old kite with a replacement valve. Easy fix. Get soldering iron or if your lucky and know a someone with a hot knife and open up the hole just enough so the valve dosent pinch. If u get a bladder with the smaller valve again the slightly larger hole wont effect it.

Re: Make kites in the USA?

The numbers arnt adding up here. 850-950 labor in US for a kite = 42.5-47.5 hours at 20 an hour. 450-550 labor overseas at .20 an hour = over 2000 hrs. I find it hard to believe it even takes 40hrs to build a kite. 10 hrs maybe 15? So 2-300 bucks We are sending work overseas for a few hundred bucks?...

I took a few pieces of pvc pipe slid inside each other, just the size to fit around the valve then set a weight on top untill the glue dries. Works like a charm. Havent had one fail again yet a...

Re: Any Tug Hill sites open?

This always seems to be top secret for some reason. Check the map on tughillsnowkiting.com. That will give you an ide of the locations. Check with the landowners befoe kiting any of them. Sandy pond if frozen is a good spot. We would launch at the Irish wigwam i think its now the sandy pond steak ho...
