Re: Officially announced: North becomes Duotone

Think about this. If they had just gone with ion kites and ion windsurfing everyone would of just been like, ah ok they are changing name. Instead Duotone has created over 100 pages of comments on kite and windsurf forums plus all the talk on social media. Marketing genius to get the name out there :D

Re: Looking for a 12 mt wave kite that turns fast, feels light and drifts. Exists?

Give the North mono a try. The 12 turns like most 9s and stays in the air super well. I can ride in cross off in 10 mph and cross on in 12. If you are light the 9m is also a great option giving the power of a lot of 12m kites and turning super good. I can ride in 12mph on the 9m in cross off wind no...

Re: Cape Town - 1st time, pick kites with me

If you want to ride more on the surfboard you will need smaller than 6 at 75kg but if you want to ride tt when its nuking it will be ok. From your kites I would bring 6 evo, 7 and 10 core. The 10 will get you out in the onshore some days before the se kicks in then you will be straight on the 6 with...

Re: ION CS Wave Harness, waiting but not sure now.

Nice one Dan. Just to confirm for everyone. You only need to cut the pad to access the right side of the rope if you need to change it. I have been able to adjust the length no problem accessing the little slider from the top on the left side. The range of movement Is much longer on this harness tha...

Re: ION CS Wave Harness, waiting but not sure now.

Yes no probs getting in and out. Harness needs to be pretty tight but no probs just breathe in and click in.
Hopefully Dan or someone else knows how to get to the knot end of rope?

Re: ION CS Wave Harness, waiting but not sure now.

Undoing the screws is just for changing the hook. You can get to tge left end of the rope where there is a little metal clip but I cannot work out how to get to the other end to change the rope. Maybe Dan knows as I've asked other people but no response? Super comfy harness though best I've ever had...

Re: Hydrofoil in Cape Town

There are loads of good days for foiling in Cape Town. a lot of days it goes onshore around mid day for a few hours before the se kicks in. strength can be from 10 - 18 knts but can be big swell so you need to be competent dragging out off the beach through waves. been out 4 times in the onshore thi...

Re: Recommended small board for traveling

Ketos Pocket board is perfect. strong and light and has inserts for 3 straps on the 118, not sure on the 107 i think no inserts but they could probably add them. Uses KF box which is Ketos, F One and Takoon masts also Alpine Foil with adaptor. http://www.ketos-foil.com/en/47-ketos-foil-board http://...

Re: Which inflatable do you find best for Hydro foiloing

Mono is perfect for foiling. Unless you want super light wind go with 9m.
Good from 8 knts and has much higher top end than 12.
12 will only get you going 1 knt sooner as long as you have good foil technique.
My Mono quiver will be for sale soon if you are looking at 2nd hand.
Cheers

Re: Best practices for using board leash in the surf with a kite

Check out this article I did a while back.
Since then I now use the Surf More tangle free leash with power clip. This gives you the added bonus of an extra pull for releasing in an emergency
