Re: Best bankrupt?

Just wanted to say that I ordered a Best Cabo from the US warehouse (by credit card) at the beginning of Oct not realizing the financial situation (yeah, pretty poor due diligence on my part!). They got back to me pretty quickly and said that it would be at least a month or more to get the kite from...

Re: What are your Worst Accidents Hydrofoiling?

Been pretty lucky so far for my first season (knock on wood a thousand times) considering the fact that I'm turning 59 with a full assortment of questionable joints. Couple of early session mild line-foil tangles, and a couple of early head/neck slap wipeouts using my less than ideal 9m Switchblade....

Re: Outer Banks foiling spots

Just got back from foiling at OBX. Found a few spots but did not enjoy it. The biggest problem is weeds - tons of them, floating all over the bay above and below the surface. There are so many little strands of brown weeds that it makes foiling everywhere near impossible for more than a few minutes...

Re: Happy foil board inserts loose.

Two of us have the same LF Happy foil boards at our local spot. Neither of us use hooks so no insert issues, however his mast plate tracks are starting to delaminate (6 month old board) without any hard hits. Dealer he bought it from said they would replace it, so at least it seems LF and their deal...

Re: Hydro - Foil Prices

A 12M Core XR5 with standard control bar sells for 2,208.00. A 12M Airush Ultra single strut with bar sells for $1859. Retail for a Slingshot Hoverglide is $899. A Lift all carbon hydrofoil sells for $1300. I suppose one's opinion of what seems overpriced is all relative..........

Re: Damaged ribs = Seat

I'm probably the extreme case of someone with lousy back who still kites. My solution is pretty Harsh but it allows me to keep kiting. Had low back surgery when I was 27 (around 1986 and missing about 30% of my l3-l4 disc ever since) and have always had to use a seat harness for kiting. Started with...

Re: Drone for filming Kiting?

I have a Mavic Pro but I haven't used it for any kiteboarding video so far. I'm more interested in close-up video of a rider (at least in the sub 20 knot wind and rider speed range) rather than the typical "small spec" from 30 meters away. I'm not ready for that yet, but I have seen some great drone...

Ocean Rodeo Soul Drysuit (Large)

Size: Large. (I am 6' and 195#) Purchased new around Dec 2012 and used exactly four times (twice flat water kiting and twice flat water SUPing). Otherwise stored in a cool dry closet. Condition is as good as new with no scuffs, and all zippers/rubber cuffs in as-new condition (silicone treated). Det...

Re: If you used to windsurf.......

Long since sold all my shortboard gear, and trips to the Gorge back in the 1984ish time frame are a distant memory. I currently own a Starboard 12-6 Super (the combo SUP and Old style windsurf board that Jim Drake helped design). Great for flat water SUPing, some basic old school freestyle, and supp...

Re: Fast turning but also steady one hand turning?

Thanks Bob, I'll definitely give Tommy a call. Always knew about him, but never met him (I taught at Waves Village resort for a season, but mostly ride quieter spots nowadays). Happy to check out the Nobile T5 at Radikal as well. Notice that RWS (Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo) is getting to be quite the kiti...
