Real is hiring for 2017 season

REAL is hiring for the 2017 season. REAL is looking for kite instructors as well as gear techs, retail associates, etc. Instructors do not need certification. All potential employees do need to be able to work legally in the United States. Do you want to spend your lunch hour at Red Lobster or in Th...

Re: Caribbean tour

Sounds like fun. I'd add in Los Roques, Venezuela. Its supposed to be AMAZING (and cheap with a boat).

Re: Winter work

Boracay, Cape Town (ok the water isn't warm, but the air is), Perth, Baja, Caribbean. Working may depend on work permits/how much under the table work is available.

Re: St Lucia, Union Island, St Vincent details needed

Hey - I haven't been to St. Lucia but think there are a couple options. Coconut Bay is a fancier resort that is supposed to have awesome kiting but probably a bit more expensive. Check out the reef huts for some cheaper options at a different kite spot. I've spent a reasonable amount of time on Unio...

Re: Moving to C-Kites.

I recently made the switch to C kites (RRD Obsession Pros). Relaunch takes a little getting used to and then is not a big deal. The newer c-kites (obsession pros, best gps, etc) have some depower in the bar (more than some of the older ones), but you need to be comfortable powering and depowering th...

Re: Anyone here not use a donkey dick at all ?

I have an old detachable donkey dick (velcroes onto your chicken loop). I don't know what brand made it, but they would be another option if you decide you want one.

Re: Weighing up 2013 Obsession vs 2013 Swtichblade

Depends on the year you got. The last two year's Obsessions don't tend to backstall (they can...but its not super prevalent). I love my 7m obsession - boosts huge and is fast, but not too fast :)

Re: RRD Bar for obsession

It should work fine. I've flown it on an older RRD bar. As you stated, there are some minor differences in the V5 bar (washers above black and red balls where the safety connects that makes it easier to unspin center lines, etc), but line lengths and connections are all the same so it will work fine.

Re: Where to live, kite and party Centra/South America Nov-M

Yup, I spent about 6 weeks on Boracay two winters ago. I don't know what you have read, but there are always parties there. White Beach is lined with bars and clubs, there are often special parties hosted by random things (including FM while I was there - the guys were all quite psyched). I don't th...
