Re: North: Surfboards 2009

I rode the North Race board as well. Very cool board. Dwight is right, it upwinds like nothing else. It is very smooth through chop and I thought it rode downwind really well. The nose has good kick to it so you do not feel like you will dive the nose racing downwind. If you get a chance to give one...

Re: All north 2009!!!

From what we hear the 09 Rebel will come around September 1 in the US and the Vegas around October 1. Boards will be somewhere in that time also. I think the graphics and colors look pretty good and I am sure they will all look better in person. I do think they appeal to the younger crew a bit more ...

Re: Myrtle Beach, SC Kiteboarding?

Contact Jeff at Sail and Ski Connection. He is a good guy and knows the area. I am up in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. We are about 1 to 1.5 hours from Myrtle. We have a good variety of riding spots and you are welcome here any time. You can check out http://www.gokitesurf.com" onclick="window....

Re: Launches in NC nearish emerald isle?

I am down in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach but have spent some time in Emerald Isle. There is a nice crew of riders up there. Most of the riding there is ocean riding doing downwinders. They do have good sounds up there but you really need a boat to access them if I am not mistaken. Down here we...

Richard is correct. Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach are probably closest for you but really are best for S/SW winds and is mostly ocean riding unless you have a boat. We are in Wrightsville Beach and we can ride any wind direction except NW. We ride ocean a lot but do have some flat water spots depe...

We have tested the 135 X-Ride. I was quite impressed with it. The board rode smoother than I expected through chop. It is a bigger board than I would normally ride but I had no problem handling it powered up. It locks in really well but still breaks free when you want it to. It does plan up quick an...

I would fully agree. The 14m / 10m combo is the way to go for you. Both are great kites. Both sizes perform really well and complement each other nice.

The 10m is a great size. It has huge range. I am around 65kg and can ride it from 14mph to 25mph with higher gust easy. I can even go lower sometimes. The 10m performs great with good speed, turning, lift and hang. I prefer it to the other sizes I tested.
