Re: On-shore vs Off-shore wave kite

From personal experience for onshore wind, a quick reacting light kite is top with good upwind power. As for upwind:Is it just me or a super good upwind kite is necessary for onshore waves? You get pushed down constantly and being able to ride super upwind helps so much in positioning, and the numbe...

Re: Fastest Turning Surf Kite?

Reo is great in sideshore, side-off wind. Drifts beautifully. A bit twitchy in very strong wind. Upwind can be a pain if its not blowing steady and strong. Not much float for strapless jumps. Loops faster than you blink. If you only ride on-shore in gusty 12~20knot wind, dont get a REO: power shuts ...

Re: The end of IKA, GKA and World sailing ( involvement with kiting)?

The big debate: ramen is pasta and in soup raviolis are noodles. Meanwhile I like my Udon thick and all-dente with butter and pesto sauce.

Re: Ozone Strut Valves breaking after 1 year in tropical climate

I doubt many brands tests their kites in hot humid conditions...Which I wish they would..and realize how bad tubes/valves/glue resist. For rentals Top Brand Inflatable SUPs dont last a year even in the shade so we switched back to hard & soft boards. Id rather my kite be "tropical climate proof" tha...

Re: Hydrofoil set under 1k?

Middle of the road new Twin Tip - $500 Spleene Hydrofoil setup - $1000 Would you pay 2x the money to have 10x the sessions? Seems like a total no-brainer for all the #NeverFoil folks. Foil is great for that floating feeling and upwind in super light wind in deep water HOWEVER 10x the sessions does ...

Re: Slingshot SST vs Ozone Reo

I tried both. The SST has that weird slingshot feel. WTF is the kite power kind of feeling. OH here it iiBOOOOMmmj AAAARRRR~~~~ The REO is super smooth gradual power. It doesn't feel your flying anything it is so light and nimble in the air. In 30+knots I feel can concentrate on my board my waves. N...

Re: Begginer strapless surf board - North nugget, airush mini monster or suggestions

Best beginner surf board? Not a beginner surf board. Just get a slightly WIDER pro shape and save that money for a one board quiver : FIREWIRE EVO (or anything similar?) I ride a 4'10 at 65kg. Plenty of float. Works in all conditions. These TOMO boards the smaller sizes feel big so you can ride a 5'...

Re: Strapless kitesurfing: where to place your feet on the surfboard

Wherever it feels comfortable? Open up front foot to get a good feel on were you should be.
Wider stance when jumping or hitting the lip. Narrower stance when cruising/upwind.

HBsurfkite Legacy 3D Hook

Any thoughts or impressions on the new HBsurfkite legacy harness (3D hook system)? Rope sliders still seem just a bit better for frontside riding and no hitting the board with the hook. Though this is a nice option if you also want to unhook surfstyle. Looks comfy.
