Re: Strapless board for a big guy

I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs. I learned strapless on a Rawson 5'10" quad and it was a great board but I struggled when the wind dropped below 20. Got a Ben Wilson drifter. Hated it. It was slow, didn't turn for crap. Not for me. I got a 5'5" vader and that board is magic. In quad setup it rides like a raceb...

Re: Which 12m kite ?

https://youtu.be/FUnRDVxN7_M This video was shot using the same kite, a switch nitro 4 10m. The first half is wave footage and the second half some free ride footage. This kite is great for big air and is easy to go big with. It has medium bar pressure so you know where the kite is. It's not a dedic...

Re: Switch Nitro 4 : How to fix the long bridle issue ?

I have the nitro 4 10m and have had the bridle wrap a couple of times. I would love to have a shorter bridle but I read on the switch forums that they had to lengthen it to eliminate pulleys. I love the crisp feel that no pulleys provides so I'm willing to deal with it. The bridle only wrapped when ...

Re: Switch Nitro review?

Hey JBZ, I'm the guy you spoke to at carpets. The spot that video was shot at was in the nighthawk bay area in the "ski" canals. I think he kayak to it.

Re: Onshore wave riding

We get dead onshore wind a lot here and if it's windy then it's best to move the kite very little. In those conditions I will steer the kite between 2 and 12 if I'm going right and 10 and 12 going left. If catching the wave heelside I turn the kite to 2 right before dropping in and keep it there whi...

Sweet!!! I'm sure you will like it. Post a review here once you get to ride it!!! Curious to see what other kiters think of them.

Re: Brokite Hybrid or Pop

I have a hybrid 135 and would highly recommend it. The construction really smooths out the chop allowing you to ride with more speed. As far as the comparison between the pop and hybrid they are pretty similar but the hybrid turns better and will be better in the chop. You also mentioned current and...

Re: 8m with good low end

I have a switch nitro 2 8m and that kite gets me going in about 15 mph. I weigh about 200lbs. Nice thing about that kite is that it turns slow for an 8m so you can get comfortable on it quick. I have a 10m nitro 4 now and it also has good low end but not the same raw power that the nitro 2 had.
