Re: Tight racing at Formula Kite World Championships Oman as France’s Nico Parlier asserts dominance

Julien Kerner was right behind and witnessed the incident and filed a protest. Here is his protest against Maxime (number 2). Theo and Riley (number 80 and 63) were both injured and Theo needed stitches.: I want to protest for a dangerous sailing from number 2. 80 and 63 were starboard overlay line ...

Re: Tight racing at Formula Kite World Championships Oman as France’s Nico Parlier asserts dominance

In case anyone is interested, the protest decisions at the end of each day are posted. There were 25 protests today which is not really unusual in an event like this. The protest committee can award redress to a victim of a foul and then give them the average score of their other races, and of cours...

Re: Tight racing at Formula Kite World Championships Oman as France’s Nico Parlier asserts dominance

From the press report it sounds like Maxime Nocher was on port and collided with Riley and Theo. The twitter feed said there were injuries but it isn't mentioned above so perhaps it wasn't too bad. Both Riley and Theo had been doing very well .. :( The races are under ten minutes each and the race c...

Re: Damaged ribs = Seat harness....help

I believe that board shorts like the Dakine Nitrous provide a hook height that is a bit higher than a seat harness, but certainly lower than a waist harness. I have back issues but I have no trouble with my Nitrous board shorts.. I guess it depends on the individual. My friend who hurt his ribs a co...

Re: Buoy for race training

These are commonly available at marine stores. You can see an 18" one from hundreds of meters away.
To anchor it be sure to use some chain near the surface so it goes downward and you don't have any rope dangling around the surface.

Re: How to Assemble a Naish Foil Set

Our local North dealer has not had any foils delivered yet from North. It sounds more like North wants to ensure everything is durable before they put it in stores.

But this is a Naish topic and I haven’t heard any problems with that foil. Any first hand reports?

(Incidentally the image of a broken foil above is not a real carbon one but is just a composite material without carbon cloth.)
