Re: Foot Strap recommendations

Dakine footstraps are widely available. I recommend either model below. Both hold their shape.

Re: Moving from heavier to lighter foil

Dylan, in response to your original post: The Slingshot Hoverglide is an entry level product. (I actually have never tried it because it is so heavy that I'm not sure I could lift and carry it to the water  ) As with other entry level products, you really haven't experienced the fun of hyd...

Re: Bigger boost: Mono or Boxer?

Both great kites. I have compared them side by side. The North Mono is slightly higher aspect ratio which means it may point higher but the Boxer may be gruntier with more low wind power. I have flown both and they jump fine but couldn't really say which will get you jumping higher. I am not sure ei...

Re: Line length, gybing and down-looping

I use 20m lines with my Chrono v2 13m kite. I have success when I switch my feet first and only then begin the gybe and down loop (start with the kite high). Pedro explains it well above.

Re: Naish Repair Hack

What silliness. Naish makes great kites that hold up well and are widely used including in schools. Naish kites are as easy to repair as most and much easier than some of the cheap brands. (I have helped repair hundreds of kites at my local shop.) The Naish octupus system is very robust and works ve...

Re: Naish Repair Hack

I help at a shop where we repair kites. We find that Naish is one of the better quality kite brands and well made. The octopus system has been easy to access for years now (although is was a pain before that). We rarely see a failure of the octopus strut connections. It is certainly more durable tha...

Re: Hydrofoil Pro Tour La Ventana

Final day: For the first time all week, the races were able to start on time with all riders at the start. The first 3 races were held back to back, averaging about 13 mins in duration. Athletes rode out in the exciting conditions they had been waiting for, riding mostly 11m kites. With a change in ...

Re: Hydrofoil Pro Tour La Ventana

Day 2 had no wind but day 3 had enough for 4 races. Once again we saw wins from Olly Bridge for the men, and Daniella Moroz for the women.
