Re: Kiting Beta for Big Island Hawaii?

Hi TMC, thanks for the info, very disappointed to hear as I may find myself there for a few months and was hoping I could kite. I'm not very experienced so the idea of being smashed around on rocks isn't at all appealing. I'm also only about 100lbs so the light wind isn't as much of an issue. My fri...

Re: Kiting Beta for Big Island Hawaii?

Hi Jdogg, did you manage to get more info on kiting in Kona/Big Island? I would like to find a kiting group there. Thanks!

Kite spots July-Sept

I am looking for good warm, flat water locations for a beginner kite trip from July-Sept...does anyone know what the following are like? Would be great for first hand knowledge as I have been reading up on websites and often the websites selling their locations just say it's great all year round! Eg...

Warm weather kitesurfing and triathlon training

I have taken 6 months off and want to find a place to be able kite as well as train for triathlons at the same time. The anticipated period will be May to Sep 2012. I don't have much money and am a beginner kiter, so I would need somewhere with flat water, safe for single women, warm (of course), ch...

Kiting in Hua Hin

Hi, have a few friends going to Hua Hin next week and would like to know the best beach to kite from, and also the best area to stay near for kiting purposes.

Pranburi is not an option this time as they have to be in Hua Hin.

What's the wind like btw?

Thanks!

Re: Help with choosing new board for beginner

Thanks for the advice and insight. All very interesting to consider. I think I will hold off for as long as possible so that I can try a few sizes in different wind conditions, but will probably still stick with one board for the time being, as budget has got a lot to do with it for now. I also want...

Help with choosing new board for beginner

Hi, I am a female beginner and need to invest in a board. I am hearing so much contradictory advice that I thought I would post here to see what the consensus is. My level is quite basic, i.e. I am just starting to get up on the board and ride downwind. The issue is the wind condition in the 2 locat...

Re: Slingshot Turbo 3 Review

Hi, I just started kiting and would like to buy my own gear as it makes sense if I am going to keep going. Looking around for something reasonable but good for beginners and saw the Slingshot 2008 Turbo Diesel 3 which is really cheap. I have only learnt on Cabrinha Switchblades which were easy to de...
