Re: I'll have to change my name now North Kiteboarding is no more..

I will tell you this... I have just learned a lot about the industry... some of which I am not sure I like. I always envisioned that the kite company's were started by and run by a couple of guys with an idea... Never did I think that investment companies would be behind all this. Naive I know but I...

Re: Go easy on a Noob! Just getting started in the sport.

Welcome! Get your wife to take lessons too. Otherwise she will be a kite widow like mine unless she likes lounging on the beach soaking up some rays :D . Thanks, Jake! My wife isn't the adrenaline junkie like I am, but she does in fact love lounging on the beach soaking up the sun. I think we'll be...

Re: Kite Manufacturing - free feedback

That is the opposite of what I have had happen. Best Kahoona's have this coating on the tips (black over ripstop canopy) and that fabric holds up better than the non coated ripstop. If it tears on a tomahawk, it rips right up against the coated area, but not through it. And I have seen deterioratio...

Re: Cheapest country for lessons?

Hello, When I look at the price of kite lessons, it always very expensive like 100$ an hour. Could you recommend a country where classes are more reasonable? All I'm saying here is that's a lot of money for me. I like to travel but also like to take lessons to improve. Thank you I would be very car...

Re: Kite Manufacturing - free feedback

Oh I got one! Graphics should not be printed to the fabric especially on the leading edge using a process called hot split plastisol. It is notorious for pealing off over time.
That kite my profile picture looked great at first but the graphic detail was half pealed off in two years.

Re: SupaEZ Where have you been?

Hey Laughinman have you ever kited with Starsky ? You are both from Ontario. No he's from Kingston and I am from the Sarnia area, we are basically at opposite ends of the province and Ontario is pretty big... I bet it would be 6 hours driving to get there. It is possible he has kited at KP with me ...

Re: Going from Short Mast to Long mast Advice

OK, maybe I was too blunt. If you need a shorter mast for swallows of course its not a waste. From what I read, short mast systems bring a benefit to the first few sessions only, therefore a waste of money imho. (as long as you enjoy the learning, which is needed for foiling) Now that I read that y...
