totally agree, having fun is what its all about of course or why would you do it? Suppose I'm thinking more in a competitive kind of way. How would it be judged if two riders were on an exact same wave using two different techniques. Would the guy hitting the lip 5 times beat the guy who did 4 turns...
Granted but what about competition? How can you judge two totally different things? Can you score a bottom turn that is 10M from a wave? Actually do you score a bottom turn?
What is "proper" wave riding? I say, same as surfing. Going down the line putting in some turns, throwing some spray. Others say its ok to smack the lip, turn around, go like 10-15M ahead of the wave, turn round and smack it again. That apparently counts as 2 turns?? Neither is really wrong I suppos...
