Austin,

Keep your eye on the local forum when Joe gets back. I'm sure there will be several demo dates. I also expect the local instructor to open up a 9 and/or 12m Boxer SLE to use as school kites and demos... :P

Austin,

Great to see you so excited about the sport, of course, you've been excited from day one. Be patient. Naish will once again deliver. And I'm sure the local Naish rep will have some demo kites for us to play with soon...

The Octopus was the least important feature when I chose to fly Raven's last year, now I can't stand having to mess around with inflating each strut on it's own. You can debate the amount of time saved, but I'm always the first one done with setup. Much to the frustration of my riding buddies. Of co...

Great info all the way around. Can't wait to hit the water and do my own fine tuning... One question that seems to pop up a lot lately, is what size shift bar should a person use on a given kite. How much turning speed would you lose by going with a 20" bar on a 16m RavenII or TorchII for example. A...

Welcome

1020, First, nice to have another rider in the area. Check out the previously mentioned forum, and we'll make sure you get to know the guys who ride in your area. I weigh 165lbs and the biggest kite I fly is a 16m Raven with a (large) 145cm Alien. The big TD or the Machine sound like excellant light...

The Torch is a sweet kite, as is the Raven. I waited a few extra months for this years gear (no big deal as it was winter here in West Michigan) and got a 12 and 16m Raven. After 20 sessions on them, I have no complaints what so ever. Great depower range, very forgiving, and super lifty. The 5th lin...

I've had 17 sessions on the 132X37 and love it. Good flex but stiff enough to hold an edge in anything from chop to waves to butter, light weight, and nearly bombproof. The clincher for me was that the board rode better toe-side (for me) than anything I've tried. This year the boards have color grap...

Loved my HC stealth slim...right up to the momentl it broke in half. I knew that it would have a limited lifetime, and was not shocked when it finally died. I went with something more durable for this season though, at about the same weight or less. I have a custom Aggression 132x37 (5lbs with strap...
