Re: North Kiteboarding 2018

You cannot put the newer suicide ring on older chicken loops, however I'm pretty sure you can put the new chicken loops on older bars, which should allow you to run the new ring on older bars. Haven't actually done this myself, but I'm pretty sure it works. I'll see if I can round up some gear to te...

Re: North 5-lines bar from 2010, does it work for Vegas 2014?

All 5th Element bars from all years (at least as far back as 2005) will work for all North kites (at least as far back as 2005).

Re: North Support ignores letters what to do?

We have a contact form here: https://www.northkiteboarding.com/nc/footer-navigation/contact/ Depending on how you fill out the form (your address mostly) your contact information and notes should get forwarded to a representative for your area who should contact you back. This way we have a better c...

Re: North Bar problem

You can fly any year Rebel with any year 5th Element bar.

In fact you can fly any model of North kite from any year (at least as far back as 2006) with any 5th Element bar from any year.

If you have any questions or need more clarification let me know.

Re: North Rebel 2018

Sabraxas- Pretty accurate roundup of the last 12 years of safety development in kiteboarding. You have good awareness/memory of the evolution of designs/safeties. However I'm not sure you're drawing the correct conclusion and I think your sarcasm about Ken "discovering" some simple design isn't call...

Re: North Rebel 2018

lindeym-

Definitely lighter bar pressure. Just back-to-backed with a Neo and the Rebel is a good bit lighter on the bar.

Re: North Rebel 2018

Sounds about right. My position may be somewhat different (probably should update my profile) but I still work for North Kiteboarding in North America. For the record, posting on forums was never in my job description. I just saw a lot of misinformation and unanswered questions here so I took up pos...

Re: North Rebel 2018

TL;DR: It's a Rebel. Don't judge it till you try it... For those who want a little more info on how this design came about... North as a brand (and I personally) have for 10+ years pushed the 5th line as the only reliable safety. We've also pushed the performance advantages of the loaded 5th line (w...

Re: New 2018 North Rebel 4/5 line has me rethinking Evo

Ralf has not yet finished designing the Evo, I have not had a chance to ride any prototypes. Based on how we're trying to differentiate the Rebel and the Evo, I tend to think the higher performance, bigger jumping kite will definitely be the Rebel. I think the Evo will focus more on "commercially ac...

Re: New 2018 North Rebel 4/5 line has me rethinking Evo

Sarc- The depower stroke on the smaller size kites seems more comparable to a 'normal' kite. got to test the 7m this weekend and the longer bar stroke meant a little less "off/on" feeling. Ken tried every year to lengthen the depower stroke of the smaller sizes, this move to bridles seems like an ea...
