Come on Papa Smerf (sic),

I'd like to hear what kind of a jam the SS surefire spreader bar got you out of. I've heard mostly good things about this product.

Re: Please send the governator a message !!! keep ca parks open!

Dude, just move. California is dying. If they don't cut funding for the parks then they will have to cut funding elsewhere in things like education and infrastructure. The wind sucks in most of the state anyway and where the wind is good it's freezing cold. Wait, does the UNLV in your name imply yo...

Re: New to Kiting. What Type of Trainer Kite should I get?

Hey JakeMoore, Would it not be better to just get a used 5M SLE kite with standard bar? There are some on ikitesurf for sale (assuming they are still available). It seems like it would be best to get something that is as close as possible to "the real thing". It could also be taken out to body drag ...

Re: New to Kiting. What Type of Trainer Kite should I get?

Hey gcp01, I am just starting out like you, but here is my take… I have put about 6 hours in on my 2-line 2m trainer, and I feel like there’s not much more to learn. Yesterday, I was out, and I was able to carry on a conversation with one guy while not looking at the kite, and while figure-8ing the ...

Re: lifejacket

You just want N (Newton), which is a unit of (buoyancy) force. Newton-meter refers to a torque (as in the link) or to a unit of work/energy.

Good link, though, explaining the different buoyancy forces given by different vests/PFDs.

Re: Ocean Rodeo Introduces 100% Guarantee On All Current Product

EvanOR: Whatevs…I saw you roll up to 3rd in your Bentley with gold rims. Ok, so I exaggerated…nobody in the industry is likely smoking $100 bills. I read the other post you pointed out. I would have liked to have seen some hard numbers instead of the “wishy washiness” of the response of OR Sales and...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Introduces 100% Guarantee On All Current Product

I’d really like to know the margin on these items. It would also be interesting to see the % of used versus new goods sold and whether this has been factored into the equation. Perhaps I'm wrong. Forgive me, but I don't really trust businesses, and I have a very hard time believing the cost is justi...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Introduces 100% Guarantee On All Current Product

It does seem odd, though it is not only limited to OR. I mean, I am just looking to get into the sport and have been doing a ton of research, and I would have liked to purchase new, but I am not going to do that because the prices are pretty outrageous, and I could only afford one kite. The material...
