Hua Hin is an excellent spot, also down to Pranburi.
I wouldn't hesitate any more.

This is what a friend of mine got during his last session
I'm using trousers anyhow because of jelly fish, so if it will avoid deep slashes alongside, the better.

Hydrofoil design - too sharp edges

I'm wondering if the designers of the hydrofoils can trade off hydrodynamic effective sharpness vs safer blunted edges
Lately too many friends got injured, so I'm posting this to see if there are technical solutions rather than "being careful ".

Re: Flysurfer Peak 5 is here

Today I had my first session on the peak5 6m2. I have also Peak4 8 m2 and 11m2. The 'fun factor wind range' as I feel it (80 kg ) is as follows: 8-11 knots Peak 11m2. 10-13 knots Peak 8m2 11-15 knots Peak 6m2. Give or take 0.5 knots depending on weight, wind and sea quality. The wing is Moses 633, 9...

Re: Kite Life Retirement Locations in Asia

I would second Hua Hin in Thailand.
Reasonable winds during the season from December to April.
15-18 knots almost every day.
Seldom nuking winds.
If you hydrofoil, then you get a lot of nice days before and after the season (9-11 knots).
Life cost also very reasonable.

Nice post, it’s true. But how about when you live 1-2hrs from the closest spot. Makes things much more difficult.
That's one more significant reason to hydrofoil !
The odds of having have a good session are a lot higher.

Age and hydrofoiling

I'm wondering how many of the 70 years old and beyond are hydrofoiling.
Personally, since reaching the 7ties, I prefer hydrofoiling over kitefoiling, mainly because of the abundance of foiling days vs stronger winds....
