Re: Slingshot NF2 Positioning

Hi Ludbey, I taught myself to foil with a kite, then recently tried behind a boat. I found the boat much harder than using the kite, especially the initial getting up on the foil. Maybe ok of a sup when your already standing. I mainly ride strapless surfboards too but use at least one strap when foi...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

I borrowed the Thrust large sup wing from the local shop to try on my Thrust KS. Worked very well, stable and quite uasable. It was on a 70 cm mast, although heavy on the beach it is neutrally buoyant so the weight was irrelevant in the water. Breaching the foil was nearly a slight drop, you could b...

Re: Happy foil board inserts loose.

Looks like your inserts have come loose inside the board, they are only glued into foam and the foam/insert glue join has failed. To repair, first dry the water out from the board, out on the sun upside down, may take a few days. Water will be pushed out during the day as the air expands inside the ...

Re: New North Foil's 'PA Carbon Mix 50'

The wings and fuselage look and feel like plastic, they look very tough. Hopefully someone has gotten one on the water

Re: New North Foil's 'PA Carbon Mix 50'

Compared the rigidity of the new Naish Thrust to the North Speedster in the shop, seems to be a lot more flex in the wings of the North. Couldn't demo either but the flex put me off and I bought the Naish.

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

I bought this one due to the ability to use the sane foil with different disciplines. I'm a newb at foiling so can't provide a good review as I'm still at the leaning to gybe point and have had little exposure to other foils. Construction seems quite good with a sealed mast, front wing is are carbon...

Re: Epoxy Gloss Coats How To

Have always fought with air bubbles in epoxy filler coats, a pain to sand out once cured. I tried the micro torch last night, worked a treat. Agree that gloss finishes aren't the go, but it is food for filler coats, I used a brush to apply

Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

When building a fuselage, search for carbon fibre sleeve. It easily expands over any section, the wet out and pull tight, no need to bag it and bagging can actually cause problems. The fibres run diagonally for excellent torsion resistance and will follow any lumps etc added for mount points.

Re: Copper Aluminum paste as tef gel alternative ?

Look for a product called Thixogrease, http://www.powerupusa.net/index.php/products/power-up-products/thixogrease if it is available in your location. I work in aviation and we now use this in joint areas where corrosion has previously been a problem using conventional products. From what I was told...

Re: Is it possible to kite a surf-foil?

I am looking at the new Naish thrust foil, seems you can build any wing/fuselage/ mast combination. Anyone ridden one?
