Re: UFO vs boxer

Could we keep this thread to UFO v. Boxer please? I'm especially curious about the differences in lift, drift, and sizing. Thanks The Boxer will obviously be heavier due to the strut so will effect drift. You don’t need a strut for a kite 8mtrs and under, above that size relaunch can be tricky in t...

Re: UFO vs boxer

thanks for the great info Onda how do Peaks compare for upwind and lift during transitions with UFOs? would 6m UFO be a good replacement for 5m Peak? Peaks, none, gave up attempting tacks with a Peak, almost zero lift. UFO’s and Clouds, not as much as a strutted kite or foil kite but adequate for r...

Re: Foil quick mount

Locking T-nuts. https://i.postimg.cc/CxLnHwhL/descarga.jpg These only work if your base plate has holes not slots, as two of them need to be free to slide. Foam in the base of the tracks is easier and cheaper. ??? I don't understand this... Why should two of them be free to slide? 8) Peter Because ...

Re: The future of foiling

I think most of us are surfers AND wind (any kind) surfers too as different sports both awesome and one without the other would be a loss. Did I get it right you distinguish between foildrive and efoil? Because of the drag difference? Might be confusing for many as this thread seems to be about bot...

Re: The future of foiling

You look like a robot Joking apart, it seems to be fun. I wouldn‘t mind trying it, but for the moment, I can only think that is something special about just using the wind. Perhaps prejudice. No prejudice there, using the wind means everything in my experience. But as said, a few like to ride a mot...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Another one…here we go: www.strictlyhooked.com I am not alone. And leave it to us for what we want to use it. I didn’t realise how few kiters still follow airstyle, Toby, that strictly hooked page is great, but I didn’t see a single reply or question, only views. So considering anyone trying to lea...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

and how many customers... ? that is the biggest question of all ! I would say bugger all, with the drift from kiting to winging, kitefoil or downwinding there is no way any brand would contemplate a large SLE anymore. And with kitefoil racers only using ram air the big SLE’s are a dead duck idea.

Re: Gear choice advice for novice

Ok, I’m going against the flow, for your first outings go with the 850 wing, you really don’t want to fly in the first sessions, just get used to the board with the foil attached. Starting with the 1200 will be like riding a bucking bronco, it will fly well before your ready for it but after a few s...

Re: The future of foiling

The motor for Foildrive is only there to get you back upwind or pop you up on the foil. The pleasure/fun starts when the motor is no longer needed, only the power of the swell/wave. Kitefoil will still have its place, in the annoying wind range of 6-10knots. Not enough power in the swells to use and...
