Re: Damien LeRoy Injured in Paraglider Crash

The below message is taken from Damo's FB page. Hopefully his explanation answers some of the questions everyone has been asking... Dear friends & family, First, I’d like to thank you all for your support. I have been in awe of all the support, messages, and prayers you’ve sent, and I can’t thank yo...

Re: Any decent flat water kiting near Port Charlotte FLA?

gene@windgypsies.com Here's the contact for an instructor in the area. I'm in the east coast, but I've heard of a spot over there called Tiger Tail i think that's supposed to be a great flat water kiting area. I'm ocean and waves 99% of the time over on this side of the state. Im sure he'd be able t...

Re: Kite Gear Stolen - South Florida

I could hardly be happier with how this turned out, but I had very nearly convinced my wife that I was just going to have to break down and by a hydrofoil (the Alpinefoils are works of art) when I got the call that they found my stuff...

Re: Kite Gear Stolen - South Florida

Thankfully criminals are stupid... Both of my boards were pawned about 15 miles from where they were stolen. Florida requires a fingerprint and ID, and all items are held for 30 days before being placed on the shop floor. Jupiter Detectives had been reviewing the online database of recently pawned i...

Kite Gear Stolen - South Florida

I live in Jupiter, FL and my car was broken into last night and I had my Airush Sector V1.5, Naish Custom Global 6'2" and black Dakine Pyro harness stolen. For some reason, they left my 15M LF Envy untouched. I'm going to be watching craigslist for this stuff to turn up, and I'd obviously recognize ...

Re: How many gallon air tank to fill a kite.

I guess you would need a 1000L tank if you only brought the tank pressure up to 15 psi or so (can't move air from tank to kite once pressure equalizes, so I am assuming a 50% drop in tank pressure to fill the kite with to the specified volume). But if your compressor is filled to 150 psi or so, I th...

Re: Where in the world for big dowinders

The other Melbourne in Florida... South Florida beaches are pretty open all the way from Palm City down to Fort Lauderdale. Water temps stay in the mid 70's and air temp can be anywhere from upper 50's to low 80's. The have done a big downwind race from Jupiter to Fort Lauderdale in years past. Don'...
