I tried the 06 Rhino (I currently have the '05's) 10 and I think the bar pressure is a HUGE difference. However....I think this may be due to the smaller bar size this year. I also have some tendonitis-elbow issues so the light bar pressure is a plus for me....Does the '06 Octane have as much bar pr...

Octane/Rhino. Same ideas

After reading numerous, exhaustive, mindless-pimping commentary regarding these two kites, it seems they are very similar. Comparing the 06 Rhino and the '06 Octane, they seem to be very similar. Both are for 'advanced riders'. Both have great hang-time, fly very fast through the window etc.. Price ...

'05 Rhino nose

What are the exact measurements of the 5th line that attaches directly to the kites?

Specifically, the 10 and the 14.

The north web site has the lengths for the 04's (conversion) but not for the '05. (I really wish they would do *something* about that boring-ass web site.)

Thanks for the info...

Is this system still working? Meaning, are there any changes that you all might make to this design? Heat-shrink...no heat-shrink...wear on the 5th? etc.??

Two inches here...two more there...What the hell?

Firstly, how long(length) does this grey line stretch out?? Secondly, why on earth would North use such a stretchy line? I'm sure there HAS TO BE a better line to use out there......??

*IF* I remember correctly...These swivels are the ball-bearing swivels that big-game fishermen use on typical marlin rigs. I *believe* the ones SS uses are the 800 LB swivels. Although not common, I had one pull apart when we were wiring the blue marlin to the boat. It wasn't a big blue either, just...

Warning:
"Heat-shrink" - heating lines can seriously damage the lines! For example: spectra has an extremely low heat tolerance level.
Check with line manufacturer to make sure heat-shrinking the line will not affect strength.

PLUS, the ring will prevent the 5th line from wearing too much as is evident on my 5thE system. Although North has a "solution" to the wearing-issue, I do not believe their solution to be much of an improvement. What are you using for this 'ring'? Needs to be pretty heavy duty, due to the loads bein...
