I'm new to racing, and just got my first board (2011 Venturi). There's a vent plug that screws in. Should I unscrew it every time I store the board? Or is that just to allow expansion / evaporation inside the board in hot weather?

I'm stuck on LI for the next two weeks (Glen Cove, western part), looking for launches within 1hr drive. Went exploring today, but Jones beach looks PACKED with people. Is there anywhere oceanside that's away from the crowds? With parking? How about soundside?

Has anyone experienced non-freezing cold injury? The tips of my fingers are still numb after a snow-kiting session yesterday (pain was INTENSE, but they never froze). What's the treatment/prognosis?
