Re: QR, Spreader bar, Sliding hook, Depower set ups for raci

I use a sliding bar when wave riding, it gives a lovely flow when carving on a wave, and also makes it much more comfortable and efficient to ride toe side in general. I tried the sliding bar with a race board several times, and personally didnt like it. initially I was thinking it would be a great ...

Re: "Foil Effect": A team Rista video on race dev't in Maui

There are a lot of foil racers still in France, and on some types of course they seem competitive, and I think beat Julian Keurner in a race. I raced in the French National Championship - http://www.tregorkiteparty.com/ The top 3 or 4 guys on foils stormed ahead on every race and stayed there till ...

Re: roller travel bag for 70cm board

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but just sorted a boardbag and thought I'd pass it on the info. my solution was to buy a neil pryde performer 245 / 75, initially I thought I'd cut it down and shorten the zip to fit the board, instead I got a local sail repair guy (thanks Rob Jones) to add a buckle...

Re: Race board availability!

Cabrinha, came into the UK three weeks ago, I'm just getting used to mine, as johnnokeys said, it takes a bit of time to dial in the new wide boards and fin selection.

Question about Rebranding a production board

Hi All, Does anyone know if I strip the deck grip and branding on a race legal production board to rebrand it with a sponsors logo and then re grit the deck, will I still be able to race it at ika sanctioned events? Or will it now be deemed a custom! What ya reckon, am I asking for trouble? I guess ...

Re: Snapping fins anybody?

Hi WjM, I had the same issue from the same manufacturer, fin or board never abused or grounded. It was my back fin that gave way and snapped in the same place as yours. I now ride ristas (that's not a plug, I think any quality fin wouldn't snap like this) and have no issue. IMO - they are way too st...

Re: Whats your opinion / experience of offshore / cross off wind

In the end I answered the question myself; I had an epic session yesterday in cross-off conditions with head high, to head and a half surf. I watched my angles at all times to make sure I could always body drag or self rescue back to the far end of the beach if necessary. The learning curve for me i...

Whats your opinion / experience of offshore / cross off wind

Hi All, I'm really interested to here what you think about or better still your experience of wave kiting in offshore's or cross-offs and being safe, ie not be dragged out to sea. Initially when I saw some video footage and pics of people riding in these conditions I was thinking 'madness'. Then I r...
