Re: Moses foil wings for Windwing foiling

I have the 1100 and 790, although fairly new still the 1100 gets me going really easily and the 790 only needs a bit more wind and is faster. Be good to see something around 1800 cm2, when I’m better I will get something smaller than 1550cm2 too.

Re: Wingsurfing - Intel - forum topic?

I had no foiling background at all, just windsurfing and strapless kiting. Just committed myself. First 6 sessions tough as I was in chop, then started to get very short flights and each time I went out flights got longer. Took about 8 sessions, I’m on session 14 now, crash when I try and turn or I ...

Re: Winging Questions

I fly from 12-15mph easily with a 6m and I’m new at it.

Good tip I saw on ensis site that I now use, deflate holding Centre strut, let one half wing fold on top of other one and roll from joined wing tips. Mike

Re: Tips for knee starting or water starting

The width is more important. My board is 6’ 115L but only 26.5 wide. Was a struggle at first getting on, to knees then standing. Now I’m fine with it and will now be able to progress. Definitely get 30/40 liters over ur weight get as short and wide as possible. If you’ve foiled before( I hadn’t) it ...

Re: Tips for knee starting or water starting

Lie on your board and paddle out the the wing dragging behind u. Get wing downwind side and use the leading edge as an inflatable outrigger. Lean on it with downwind hand whilst you get to your knees and get balanced. It helps stabilise you loads. Get wing up above your head and pulling quickly, thi...

Re: Jo Ciastula | Episode # 147

Makes me feel old. I used to stay with his dad Tad Ciastula who made my windsurf boards. I remember seeing him as a baby after he’d just been born. Mike

Re: Corona Virus - Has your country banned kitesurfing?

It’s the message it sends too remember if we carry on like normal others will think they can do the same. The scientists haven’t made up our need to self isolate. Believe me I want to kite, Wing and SUP as much as anyone, but listen to the experts, stay home. If we all stay home it’ll be over quicke...

Re: Corona Virus - Has your country banned kitesurfing?

I think anyone driving to go and kite is being selfish. Not only are you exposing the EMT personnel and yourself to risk from car or kiting accidents. You’ll stop for fuel, food, etc touch things and and either spread it or pick it up. Stay at home, don’t drive unless it’s essential travel and only ...
