Re: Jesse Richman in Nazare

Do you still believe this is a low skill activity to ride these waves Toby. Or have you realized yet that there are skill involved than you don't even comprehend?

This is standard anywhere I go. The sheep mo backwards and forwards usually within 50 meters of their launch spot. Its dumb arse and stupid and it wont change.
I think it is awesome, because it just opens up the rest of the spots for others (me).
So true. Let the muppets be muppets!

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

I agree completely with this assessment. We have a great on-shore wind/wave location and our major issue is keeping line tension in the kite as we travel down the face of the wave and towards the kite. Our choices are to either ride over-powered to have enough power on the wave to keep line tension...

Re: Another New Kite from Ozone.

Looks like a frenzy too me. Ozone do this all the time. Rename the existing kites calling them something different. Truth is its just a next generation frenzy.

Re: Cape Town Visitors - Avoid killing each other

Kiters have a tendency to all bunch together like flies on elephant dung. (50 kiters together when you have an entire bay, why?) This is standard anywhere I go. The sheep mo backwards and forwards usually within 50 meters of their launch spot. Its dumb arse and stupid and it wont change. My suggest...

Not enough redundancy for me. You can keep your one bolt design.

Re: How To Self-Land a Kite in High Winds

It depends how close the teather is to obstacle's. Ultimately the safest method is to punch to safety in the water. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Not an option with shorebreak waves.... Yes it is. Of course you risk damaging the kite. But when you are super over powered it is the safest option. I...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Direct on shore, you are not really wave riding in my view (as Plummet said - define wave riding!) In these conditions, you are playing in waves. Here, any all around kite is fine, including Naish Pivot. I disagree with this. If you are riding the face of the wave then you are riding waves, regardl...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Here's my take on waves and kites with different wind conditions. First of all lets define wave riding as riding a wave down the line "DTL". You turn away from the upwind tack and veer down/cross wind to follow the peeling wave as close as possible to the impact zone/pocket. Direct Onshore condition...
