Re: fuselage fabrication

My gut is that it's overkill. I recon 18x1mm might be enough. I say get the 18x 1 do a flex test compared to your current. If needed add the 16x1.

Re: Wave Riding with a Foil Limits

In the video you are foiling in between surfers while on the wave. In my opinion that is not cool! You are blasting along with a floating axe that could potentially kill someone in the water. Stay away from the surfers and use the foil to get to wave sections the surfers can reach. Hookipa is a tig...

Re: Leaking Boston Valve

Usually when my valves leak there's sand under the rubber seal. Take the seal out and clean. Also spray detergent/water combo over the valve to determine where the leak is coming from. Look for the bubbles

Re: How to flush sand out of a foil kite.

I hung it from my trampoline net and hosed through the air vents and out the wing tip Velcro pocket thing. Then left it to dry. Seemed to work.

How to flush sand out of a foil kite.

Re: Wave Riding with a Foil Limits

I've met Armie a couple of times. He's definitely a water man and interesting individual. I've also looked at the sup foil which looks nice. I tend to agree, a long mast would be awesome in big waves. I have a 90 cm and its real challenging in head high plus I have to ride the foil as low as possibl...

Do you still believe this is a low skill activity to ride these waves Toby. Or have you realized yet that there are skill involved than you don't even comprehend?

This is standard anywhere I go. The sheep mo backwards and forwards usually within 50 meters of their launch spot. Its dumb arse and stupid and it wont change.
I think it is awesome, because it just opens up the rest of the spots for others (me).
So true. Let the muppets be muppets!

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

I agree completely with this assessment. We have a great on-shore wind/wave location and our major issue is keeping line tension in the kite as we travel down the face of the wave and towards the kite. Our choices are to either ride over-powered to have enough power on the wave to keep line tension...
