it is pretty wierd lol! if they were there i would hit them tho! i like the idea of balancing holding onto handlebars and landing in nice soft water.. oh and with my board glued to my feet. stop it.

more and more strapless freestyle wont involve dangling, i wasnt dangling, i ride very fast, always have done. powered/ speed strapless is natural progression and i am sure the next generation will want to take it further thanks to pioneers, iain aldridge/ airton for example. take it as a cautionary...

1000s of kids can do mobes today glued to their board, very few can land any strapless tricks at all. i snapped my ankle doing strapless freestyle, been smashing myself doing wakestyle stuff for years ( recently retired! i think..) never getting an injury like that. wakestyle was fun in the begining...

it is simply down to progression imo , any freestyle sport that doesnt move forward is not going to have the awesome hype associated with breaking new territory. youri zoon wanted to turn wakestyle into iceskating and imo that was a total fail. even streetleague in skateboarding is relatively boring...

i have met a few younger riders getting into it and they are inspired and love it, but generally i would say not only wakestyle died, kiteboarding overall died down a lot too.( aussie)

had a session this week on my own... 20 knots+ , perfect swell.. no one else out.. been happening more and more.
