Re: Aaron knee injury :(

i fell your pain, i did the same injury but from a heavy kiteloop landing. It sucks man, especially having the meniscus tears. If they are repairable(best option) it will be 6 weeks non weight bearing so your leg muscles will waste away so quickly. I am 4 weeks post op and my bad leg has no muscle l...

ACL Knee Injuries Kiteboarding

I did my ACL and meniscus doing kiteloops in strong wind. I have had surgery 4 weeks ago and recovery is going well. But i am very reluctant to go hard out there when i return from injury. Has anyone else done this injury and have you found the confidence to go big again?? I used to think i was invi...

Re: Knee injuries

Thanks everyone who has posted their storeys. I think i will get the surgery straight away and really work on the rehab. Weather or not i will continue mega loop training is still undecided. I think after the 6m months of recovery i think i will be happy just kiting and keep the extreme loops for th...

Knee injuries

Hey guys, Heres my storey. First decent wind of the season so im pumped. 25knots. I decide to take the arvo off work and hit the passage for a kite session. Knowing in my mind im a bit rusty from lack of kiting through the winter and little strong wind days since last year. Spent all winter watching...

Re: Nemesis NXG 2010 ? was this a good kite in smaller sizes

I had a 9m NXG and it was pretty sweet. Kitelooped really aggressively and was good for boosting. It tended to backstall and a bit though when the wind was a little lighter. Nice kite though it loved the stronger winds. Unfortunately i dropped it in the surf one day and it met its demise on the rock...

Re: Big kiteloop backrolls

Suncoast if your wind is anything like mine, I think your problem is just a case of getting enough practice in. When 20+ wind comes I get anxious because I know that I have to try all my high wind stuff that day, never have time to really relax and get my timing down. I really need to book a trip t...

Big kiteloop backrolls

I have the lighter wind ones down but when i seem to try them is 20knt plus i tend to over rotate and get slammed. Which is quite dawnting when i think of going for it. Is it better to rotate completely then pull the loop when doing really big high back rolls in strong wind? When i do them in lighte...

Re: waist harness w/o safety issues due to spreader bar shap

I use a Mystic Len10 waist harness.I did the exact same thing when landing awkwardly from a high jump. My kite was at 12 oclock when i landed hard so it kind of pulled my spreader bar up and into my bottom ribs. Concequently rupturing my rib carteledge. Very painfull indeed. I still 6 months down th...

Re: kiteloop backroll

Couple things you are leaving out...... Are you sizeing down the kite at all? If not the power from 18 to 25 is significant, to the point sometimes it is practically impossible to land due to the speed your moving. Are you starting the loop to early ? When its really windy; delay your loop, you act...
