360 kitesurfing in the north east of England

Some cracking days before the lockdown. Closest thing you can do to actual kitesurfing, especially with a VR headset :)

Enjoy!

Re: Shinn Jackson - Sunburner

Hi All, I've had a couple of sessions on the K2, and its super nice. Can get foiling as soon as you've got enough wind to pull yourself onto the board (for me that's about 7mph with my 17m beast), and is very stall resistant once you're going. I find i can foil through situations which my previous b...

Re: Shin Shinnster and El Stubbo first ride!

I've had a couple of short trips out on a friend's El Stubbo/Zeeko Alloy. He had both front straps attached and no rear, whereas I'm used to riding strapless on my low aspect Moses foil. I found the Zeeko to be very different to the Moses which can be pushed into foiling at very low boardspeeds; the...

Re: Oldest person to do powered handlepasses tricks?

I'm 40 and can mobe, bj, 313 & kiteloop pass. I don't train frequently at the gym. In the winter season I go once a week, in the summer, not at all (due to increased time on water) I think recovery time is often overlooked, and I know that if I personally kite/train too much then it becomes countera...

Re: Speculation surrounding the legitimacy of Hadlows KOTA w

From what I saw on the livestream, I was surprised to see Aaron take the win, and the only way I could square the decision was that tricks were missed from the stream. I've filmed events before, and the perspective of the view of a single camera can be very misleading as a lot can be missed. Judges ...

Re: unhook tricks: short or long leash ?

I do the same as speedy, but for a different reason to the OP. I had no issues with a standard leash attached to the sliding rear handlepass tubing, until I tried low mobes. When doing them I'd find that the leash would fly over my head and wrap around my neck.... I pass from right hand to left, so ...

Re: beginers, foothoks, strapless - my experience

I received a second hand foil on Friday, and was up and strapless riding in both directions on it on Saturday :) I am a pretty proficient strapless rider and have had a lot of kiting experience; but getting clear of the foil really gave me the confidence to really just go for it. There's some detail...

Re: railey to blind problem

The kite will only significantly steer when you have tension in the lines. and the more tension the more it will steer. If you're landing with your board down wind, there should be little tension in the lines, and the kite shouldn't steer too much. What you maybe are doing is digging in the rail har...
