Re: Which is the best glue for valves?

A couple of drops of Cotol-240 mixed with the Aquaseal accelerates the cure so that it's usable in about an hour. Spread it on both the patch material/valve and the bladder then let it sit for about 15-minutes or so until it gets gummy. Then stick the two pieces together and knead out the air bubbles...

Re: Ko Olina, HI

Yup, afraid that's the case. Occasionally there's wind at Kalaeloa (red circle), but the West side of Oahu is usually dead. The main spots are Kailua and Mokes (yellow circles). You've got a drive to either. Lot's of workday traffic on that side. No one rents kites due to liability issues. Convince ...

Re: New Wainman Smoke losing air

Your kite is new so this might not be the problem, but leaking dump valves are definitely a Wainman thing. It happened on three of mine and two of my buds. The dump valve is sonic welded to the inside of the bladder, not the outside like on most kites. A valve delam isn't readily apparent as the pre...

Re: So... whose watching the america's cup races?

You can watch it live or play it later here. No commercials. Great quality. Flippin incredible boats. The Kiwi's are whipping us, but each race is fought hard. Just amazing to watch these giants blast around the course, and what a great venue SF is. http://www.youtube.com/user/AmericasCup?feature=wa...

Re: Mako 165 in high wind?

I weigh about 180 and ride my king in high wind, low wind, any kind of wind, and it works fine. I've had it out in 35 mph gusting to 45 or so. I doubt if it's the ideal board for the extremes, but it works for me. I used to ride the 140, but dropped it when I got the king.

Re: 2013 Ocean Rodeo Mako King pictures

It sounds like the shape has changed from the foam cored King. How does this translate into performance and feel?

Re: 2013 Ocean Rodeo Mako King pictures

I've been riding the old foam core King for years. I've epoxied the skin back on so many times in so many places that I expect it to break in half on me someday in the waves. If I bought a new King, what differences could I expect?
