Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Tautologies is probably right... But, there are mainly two 'kinds' of waves being ridden in, and they are quite different. There are the well spaced, smooth ocean waves that are generated miles away, roll in, and are somewhat independent of the local winds. Then there are storm waves (like you get o...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

So, for those playing in the waves in onshore winds (Like the Great Lakes), those marketed "Wave" kites might not be the best. Something fast turning and workable, with excellent upwind is more desirable.

everyone should be allowed to kitesurf no matter where you are from or who you are. Maybe if Hitler had kitesurfed he wouldn't have been so angry.
I thought Hitler did.

Re: Foil kite drift launch tips and trick needed.

Also, it gets more hectic as the wind get stronger as everything happens way faster. Always have a plan B! In the first video, you can sense a touch of 'rush' as the kite starts to load up a bit and he is having some difficulty quickly getting the lines off the bar. You wouldn't want to have your sa...

Re: Foil kite drift launch tips and trick needed.

The kite will sometime have a bit of water in it. That is OK. If there is a far bit, as the kite picks up enough air to want to fly, the water may all run to one corner. Then, if you let the kite go it may just rotate around the water filled tip and end up nose down on the water. What to do is pull ...

Re: What fin set up are people using on directional?

It certainly seems to be voodoo...
There is little to no information as to what combinations of setup/size/stiffness do what when searching online, which I find surprising.

Re: Ram Air Bow Tie Disasters

Foils have there time and place. Climbing a mountain in minutes instead of hours with a kite is an incredible feeling. Getting to the top and flagging out a foil with instant depower then packing it up and skiing down. Ive done over 40'000 feet of skiing in 16 runs in a day using a kite. One of the...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

Hey ORSales,

One more question. Have you tried this bar in below freezing conditions? How does all that PU tubing behave?
I appreciate that no bar will work if gets iced up...think pre-frozen bar on snow.
