Re: Which is your preferred trim system?

Slingshot Guardian: Very few moving parts with cleat and thick bomb proof lines. Kept simple and easy to inspect. Except for the fact that there are common situations that can completely jam the safety. Can't believe SS is still selling it. I've never had mine jam either. The lines can twist so it ...

Re: using a 17 inch bar 23M lines on 12m kite

I use a 14" bar I cut down with my 12m and all so used to use it with my 14m RPM's. I use a 17" bar with my 17m Turbine so yeah your 17" bar will work. You will have to get used to the changing in how much you have to pull but it's fine really. Whats your line length on the 17m turbine? I'm running...

Re: Releasble kiteboard-for boot riders

TheJoe, Ankle joints are the worst to rehab- I had a tendon transfer op- took me a year to get pain free. The second video (testing the release and going at 60 km/h behind the boat) was made at 6 month postoperative-it pushed me back 3 months -so be patient there. The release function- no binding i...

Re: Firewire evo vs Naish skater

Can't compare the two but I love my EVO. We have really mushy surf here in Texas so I ordered it up last year while I was in Maui and just had it shipped back home. I use some larger fins to help with planing in our crappy Galveston surf or bay swell if I'm inland so it charges upwind in a quad set ...

Re: DIY Thick surf foil wings

Thanks. I am actually working on building a foil might use foil design. Just printed out my mast pieces have not glued them together yet. No time but I have all winter to fiddle with it.

Re: Releasble kiteboard-for boot riders

Sure this is great for your average rider that does not ride that hard just mows the lawn with small jumps and very few tricks. But dialing up the release for real world forces like actual wake boarding or a hard riding pro I doubt this has any advantage. I wakeboard as well as kite and the last thi...

Re: My first kitesurf board! Eps Foam okay ?

The reason traditional surfboard design is not well suited for kite is lack of reinforcement. Most traditional surfboards have very little fiberglass which helps keep them light and aids in the flex of the board. Kite surfboards use more layers of glass and heavier cloth. They don't flex as much and...

Re: Slider construction - surface material?

No real need for anything over it if you have a good grind base board. One of the cable parks I ride has a 4inch carbon pipe flat rail that works fine. All so VWC has a few straight metal rails. The 2" square tube hand rail in to the pool gap is one of the sickest rails out there. If you really want...
