Re: South Padre Island foiling

The shallow part depends on the tide. 1 to 2 ft but once you get out its about 4-6 foot. The whole center of the bay is pretty much 6 ft. There is a lot of sea weed in the bay however so that might be a problem anywhere it is growing up more. Most of it is pretty much on the seabed from my experienc...

Moses wings

Anyone know how far they space the front wing bolt holes on their wings. Making a foil with my 3d printer and would like to be able to test it with good wings that have been tested and are known to work. Might even make a mold from some other folks wings when I get a chance.

Re: Punta Chame Panama

It was nice when I was there. The wind turned on everyday at 2pm. There were lots of stingrays I never got hit by one thankfully. All so there were a lot of jellyfish and I did hit by one of them. It's a low key spot not a party place. The one restaurant/bar is Nitro City that is where I stayed. I e...

Re: Shorten Line Length from 24m to 22m

The only way it should change the characteristics is if the shorter center lines pinch the leading edge in. That is a big if. As long as the lines are all the right length it will be fine. You would have to go super short for the lines to pull the outside of the kite in. As long as the kite maintain...

Re: Board width + boots size?

Just depends on how wide it is where the boots are. 41.5cm is the widest part of the board. Try them out and if you don't like them upgrade to a bigger board. Rule of thumb is 42cm wide boards for boots though. It's really only a problem because we all ways have to edge unlike wake boarding where yo...

Re: Backrolls vs backside handle passes

Hi everyone. There's something I haven't been able to understand about how tricks are named. Let's say you're riding on a port tack (to your left) and you unhook and throw a backroll. That means you rotate your body away from the kite, turning to face upwind first (whereas, with a front roll, you w...

Re: New bandage for cuts - ZipStitch

We’ve always just used superglue, works great. Does it really? I’ve heard of it being used but never thought this was widely practiced? Is it safe, all other things like cleaning etc being equal? The only difference between super glue and durabond is a permit from the government. I work at a chemic...

Re: Beastmount breakage, your opinions?

Hard to tell but looks like it is printed on the wrong axis to really make it strong. On top of that it is not a solid print. I would not trust it the way they are printing it myself. I have a 39 printer and you have to print certain ways to for strength on some things. The difference between a vert...

Re: Waring on Foil Mount adhesive

So what strength VHB did you use? They make different strengths based on the load and conditions you are using it for. Normal is the 5psi but they make stronger than that. Just because it is similar does not mean it is the same. All so you might want to change the name of the title since your experi...

Yeah they have some deeper ones for kite and wake boards. All are stainless so if you wanted to have a thinner profile you could use some snowboard ones. I all ways route out between inserts to make a block for extra grip with polyurethane.
