Re: FS Peak5 13m - control bar recommendation

In my experience doing side-by-side comparisons, the hi V helps the turn rate with the narrower bars. With the low V it's slightly slower but if you are prone to overbar steering manually, it doesn't matter which line option you choose. I myself and most people I ride with prefer at least a 55cm or ...

Re: Peak5 13m and the fifth line issues

Sometimes people install the split portion of the B-safe line in a way that interferes with the flying portion of the bridle assembly, putting tension on bridle components and causing problems. Not sure if this is your situation without actually seeing the issue in action. However, even with the B-s...

Re: Virtual assistant to launch foil kite in very high winds

Foil kites have been around for decades and they've only gotten easier to handle. I guess you don't know the Kestrel ;) It's great to handle when filled, but launch is a little different and more difficult sadly. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I just say it has some handling issues with launching, ...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

This is relevant if you have to land solo in high winds without a helper of a catcher or a wind shadow. Sometimes you cannot avoid a tangle in those situations. Basically, landing a Peak or Hybrid in a wind shadow - or very light wind - avoids most problems with tangling. If it lands on a windswept...

Re: Virtual assistant to launch foil kite in very high winds

In my long past buggy times, before 2000...... We put sand on the full trailing edge, kite in mid window. Be sure the kite rear lines can be shortend to create a full stall, (kite to flybackwards...) than slowly stepbackwards open upthe kite, carefully/gently/slowly release the brakes......Till it ...

Re: Ozone Chrono V4 (New Chrono V5)

In winds over 18 knots I get lifted, sometimes 2-3 meters up and 5-10 downwind. The tips don't inflate onbthe side. I used to have a Soul and it never did this. I forgot to ask what size Chrono are you launching in winds of over 18 knots/20 mph I only have the 11m, it has tons of depower, especiall...

Re: Peak 4 - 4m collapse

Sounds almost like it's inverted and the Bsafe is inducing a frontal collapse. I've seen it with Peaks, seen it worse with other single skins.

Re: Ozone Chrono V4 (New Chrono V5)

ReRide only works with open-cell kites. It is however EXTREMELY effective in high winds as the higher the windspeed, the more the internal bridle compresses the wing. Hooking the inline loop to your hook or even a gloved finger is enough to hold a Reride-equipped kite in 30kts with ease. https://www...

Re: Peak size bigger than 6m

How light is "light wind", what type of snow surface and what kind of skis are you on? In your weight range A 6/11m quiver will cover most wind days on most surfaces IMO apart from absolute sub 5kt days. Then the 13m is a day saver. Nearly as good as a dual skin like a Sonic on light days but with l...
