Re: Temperature and edging on ice.

http://www.hardwaterkiter.com/uploads/5/9/9/5/5995762/today_orig.jpg Did a 50 mile tour today. Top speed was 62mph. Ice was boilerplate and most of it was the total ski killing type. Not smooth and not fun at speed. Found a vein of white slush ice about 3 miles long that was smooth enough to let it...

Re: Temperature and edging on ice.

Thanks. how fast do you ride on ice? 40+ mph? wonder if that matters I've pushed a bit past 40mph once or twice. Until recently there were no kite specific skis available. Skis made for lift access were never intended to endure what they get on the kite. Especially on hard surfaces. I have some kit...

Re: Temperature and edging on ice.

yeah the ice was pretty soft yesterday. I like hard ice better to be honest, it's better for my iceboard. I made a new iceboard, simple mounted hockey blades on a skateboard. Was out yesterday until after dark. Two meter conditions :-) https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4627/26004954698_aa91bc982d_b.jp...

Re: Skis for all-round riding

Hey guys this is pretty epic info. Really appreciate it. I am not sure if I will actually end up buying all of it this year. Maybe just the boots and then rent skis to test out a few different configurations. The Icelantic ones also looks killer. Your boots are the most important piece of equipment...

Re: Ozone 9m chrono v2 vs 9m hyperlink

Seriously, the Chrono V2 is very user-friendly. The Hyperlink is a great kite as well. But don't be scared off by claims that the Chrono is hard to fly. The original, sure, was a high AR race kite. It takes some experience to get the best out of it and to know how to handle it. The V2, is easy in co...

Re: Another New Kite from Ozone.

Its not a Frenzy. At least it doesnt fly like the V10. Fsster turning, seems to be a better gust handler than the V10 or V4 Summit. Seems like a higher AR Access on steroids just juiced to the roof. Has a very familiar Frenzy feel with mire lift. Very intuitive from the feedbsck our demoers. Its one...

Re: Skis for all-round riding

There are a lot of options. Really nobody makes a bad ski these days and skis that used to be "wide body" (100mm+ under foot) are now pretty average and extremely versatile. Here's a link to which explains some of the details to look for in a ski for kiting. http://www.hardwaterkiter.com/skis-boards...

New England Snow kiting equivalent to foil boarding.

When you get hit with a warm spell and 2" of rain, you make the best of it. :D If you like riding hard water, the conditions are great. Looking forward to getting more snow again but this is pretty fun too. http://www.hardwaterkiter.com/uploads/5/9/9/5/5995762/snapshot-138b2_orig.jpg http://www.hard...

Re: Sonic2 vs. R1V2 vs. Speed5...

2nd Socomms opinion on "bad things" that foils do. Ask the people who complain most about bowties and tip curl, how much foil kite experience they had before they bought one of these "problematic" foils. Of the options you've presented, the Speed is going to be the most user friendly, durable and ha...
