Re: Best Harnesses on the market ?? New company Engine

Laughingman, I assume you use a wetsuit most of the summer and snowkite most of the winter. When skiing, I like the harness to spin freely so that the pull is coming from my side. As far as I can see, the Engine harnesses would not benefit me when skiing then. When snowboarding, it's a different sto...

Re: EpicKites (3rd Generation. 3G kites)

I finally tried my new Screamer 12m today. Expectations were high (thanks to this thread) - some are met, some not. Background: I was mostly riding Cabrinha Switchblades. Got Screamer because I wanted something faster and higher jumping. - Main thing - jumps! It was OK (4m at most) but not that muc...

Re: Air tank for filling bladder

Using the Ideal Gas Law (pV=mRT), to find required air tank volume: air tank pressure: 100psi = 689.48kPa if temperature is 25C = 298 kelvin very rough estimation of bladder volume: pump volume approx. 2L x 150 pumps for big kite = 300L pumping LE up to 8psi = 55.158kPa find mass of air in kite: (55...

Re: Best kite to replace SS TD3?

I had a 14TD2 and 9m Rev originally when I started kiting. Still have the Rev. Just got rid of the TD2 this summer and got the 14m Epic Screamer. I'm from Saskatchewan, so we have gusty winds on the lake as well. My biggest concern was wind range to work in 10 to 20 knots. I was expecting the Scream...

Advise for lightwind kite

Where I live, we usually have either 8 to 14 knot wind or 20 gusting to 30 knot wind. I have a 2008 9m rev for the high wind days and 2007 turbo diesel 2 14mfor the light wind days. I've been kiteboarding for a year and a half, weigh 64kg, and ride a 142x43cm homemade board at the moment. Going to d...

Re: Hello. Slightly overwhelmed beginner heeding advice.

I have been kiteboarding for a year, so I'll tell you my experience. I've already taught a couple friends and the reason you would want to go with an instructor is to learn how to stay safe. Also, your friends won't want you crashing their kites, so if they don't have a trainer for you to use, you'd...
