Re: Good Cheap Wings

Takoon has US distribution also. I used their wings, V1 and V2. No magic, but a solid value brand. No regrets

Re: Winging at Cabrillo in SoCal?

Thanks! Are there usually folks around? Any restrictions on days you can go wing? Entry into the water (harborside) is best from about the middle of the parking lot that goes towards the pier, via wooden steps. Usually there is someone rigging there around noon or so. $1 per hour parking, $9 max if...

Re: Light Wind (10-15 knots) Gear

I own Slingwing 6.4 V2. I don't think it is good light wind wing especially for heavier riders. It flexes too much when pumping. There are better, more rigid wings on the market that pump more efficiently. Most local riders who owned SW V2 in the past are of the same opinion. We ride in light winds ...

Re: Downloop vs up-loop in low wind jibes

I think the choice is personal. Some do better with up-loop then down-loop in marginal condition, the others just the opposite. The key is maintaining the speed and line tension. Which ever technique works better for you to accomplish this is the "right one". For me down-loop works better, but I hav...

Re: Advice for bone conduction headphones

While I would not call it affordable, I've been using Aftershokz Xtrainerz MP3 player. Happy with it so far, no issues in salt or fresh water. Battery good for 2 to 3 sessions

Re: Best seat harness for foiling?

Dakine Vega. Thin, comfy, light, packs well. I used variety of harnesses over the years, including shorts harness. I'm on 2nd or 3rd Vega now, using LF spreader bar with rope on it.

Re: jfc $233 import duty on an $840 Switch kite

The Trump Trade War with China imposed 15% duty on kites and bars, it is now at 7.5% duties on kites and bars. The Biden Administration has yet to scale this back. You likely paid $58.80 in duties, the local sales tax rate was likely applied, and you paid brokerage to the carrier. Indeed. If you re...

Re: Wingfoilboard mast track positions

I ride Fanatic 5-0 with Armstrong foil (1850). Using Quick Flight mounting plate I was able to mount the mast about 1" forward of the tracks. Even though the footstraps are in the rear position I still feel that I need more forward foil position. I like solid front foot pressure when kitefoiling but...

Re: Symmetric Wing

Sounds like a solution looking for a problem. Wing getting stuck during a jibe? The most of the windfoilers at our spot can't do a decent jibe even after couple years of foiling. Wingers start jibing after few sessions, some during the first one. I don't see a problem
